REIKI
Reiki (ray-key) means universal lifeforce energy.
Reiki is a once often used, yet forgotten ancient healing method, also known as Hands on Healing, that was rediscovered in the early 1900's by a man named Mikao Usui. Through his healing methods he became known as Dr. Usui, even though he did not have any medical training. Reiki is taught in a one day workshop where the student learns the history of Reiki, the hand positions and is attuned to the Universal Lifeforce Energy. One does not have to believe in the effects of this energy to use it or be treated by it. A treatment aids the body in promoting it's own natural healing ability...(hmmm ever heard the words..."physician heal thyself!")
TREATMENTS
Having a Reiki treatment is a relaxing, refreshing experience. The client remains fully clothed an lays on a massage bed. Treatments can last from an hour to hour and a half and is like having an invisible massage.

JADE STONE MASSAGE
Stone therapy is a thermo-therapy, using stones to provide both heat and cold and the combination of alternating temperatures can be very beneficial. The jade stones are heated and when used as massage tools relaxe the muscles, allowing for a much deeper massage. Heated stones can also be placed on the body’s chakras, or energy points, working with the body’s natural energy to create balance both physically and mentally. Alternatively, the stones can be used as a kind of “place marker”, letting the therapist know where more specific massage or treatments are needed. Cold stones are used to reduce and/or treat inflammation, to remove blood from a swollen area, and to rebalance the male and female energies in the body in order to restore the body to a state of harmony. Cold stones can also be used for detoxification purposes. Using hot and cold stones together can improve the functioning of the circulatory system and assist the body with its self-healing processes. This unique massage involves using heated bamboo rods of various sizes to knead and roll out knots and relax tense muscles. MANIS & PEDIS
The main purpose of the manicure treatment is to improve the look and feel of your hands and fingernails. Manicures also help to clean, strengthen and shape. Having a manicure includes improving the health and texture of your hands and fingernails. It helps in preventing nail damages like fragile tips, cuts or splits and in preventing hangnail formation. It can help treat sore or broken skin if present around the nails. The massage that accompanies a manicure helps improve the health of the skin by increasing blood circulation and also discourages skin wrinkles. Manicures should be done every 2-4 weeks however some people receive them as often as once a week. Regular upkeep is a good idea!
Pedicures are designed to help maintain the health and attractiveness of the feet and toenails. They can be done as often as you need and perhaps more often in the summer, when your feet may be exposed to nature. You may want to have a weekly pedicure. Nail fungus or onychomycosis, is a contagious infection of the nail bed. Fungus is found everywhere but thrive in damp places such as locker rooms, bathrooms, gyms and can be transfered through unsanitary nail tools and equipment. Because athlete's foot and foot fungus is extremely contagious you can NOT have a pedicure until after proper treatment and have no sign of the problem. Fungal infection will weaken the nail causing it to lift and even fall off. An untreated fungal infection can become a bacterial infection which can result in foot or ankle ulcers and even lead to blood poisoning. Ingrown toenails are common, very painful and usually caused by poor fitting shoes or improper nail trimming. They can be corrected and easily avoided.
